Day 17 1 Samuel 12:20

1 Samuel 12:20-22Samuel said to them, “Don’t be fearful. It’s true that you have done something very wrong. All the same, don’t turn your back on God. Worship and serve him heart and soul! Don’t chase after ghost-gods. There’s nothing to them. They can’t help you. They’re nothing but ghost-gods! God, simply because of who he is, is not going to walk off and leave his people. God took delight in making you into his very own people.Sometimes I mess up. I do the wrong thing. I don’t keep moving and I get behind. But I don’t turn to other things to satisfy the empty space inside or to push away my feelings. Those other things cannot help me. Shopping will not help me. Drinking or eating will not help me. The opinions of others will not help me. Only God can help me because he is God. He loves me. He took delight in me and provided a way for me to be forgiven.Lord, forgive me of my sins. I know I have done wrong. Cleanse my heart and make me pure again. Come alongside me and guide my steps. Show me what to do next to avoid doing wrong again. I won’t turn my back on you, Lord. I will worship you. I will serve you with my heart and soul. You will not walk away from me. You will not leave me. You take delight in me. Thank you for loving me.
