Day 181 June 30 2 Timothy 1:6
2 Timothy 1:5-7, 13-14That precious memory triggers another: your honest faith—and what a rich faith it is, handed down from your grandmother Lois to your mother Eunice, and now to you! And the special gift of ministry you received when I laid hands on you and prayed—keep that ablaze! God doesn’t want us to be shy with his gifts, but bold and loving and sensible. So keep at your work, this faith and love rooted in Christ, exactly as I set it out for you. It’s as sound as the day you first heard it from me. Guard this precious thing placed in your custody by the Holy Spirit who works in us.Paul speaks of an honest, rich faith, handed down from generation to generation. He also speaks of a gift of ministry given by God. With our gifts we are to be bold and loving and sensible. We are to guard this special gift place in us by the Holy Spirit. He works in us.Lord, forgive me of my sins. Help me to trust in you and your gifts. Help me to be bold and loving and sensible. Fill me with your courage, your love, your knowledge and your discernment.Help me to keep at this work you have given me. Fill me with your faith and perseverance. Take my hand and guide me through this day.
