You are my hiding placeStanding on the shore with the water lapping at my feet I can see waves and only water all the way to the horizon. There is nothing but peaceful sea green waves pulsating under a blue sky filled with fluffy white clouds. You are my hiding place.

When I turn around the soft sand leads to soft lush green grass waving in the gentle breeze. The beautiful flowers fill the air with their fragrance and I can breathe deep again.

I feel my body relaxing and my heart rate slows. My shoulders drop as the muscles in my neck release the tension. I enjoy the detail on the leaves around me as my eyes clear. This is paradise.

You are my hiding place

I know that God surrounds me and keeps me safe. His love gives me buoyancy as I walk. His peacefulness and love softens the air and cushions my feet as I walk. And I can think! Finally things begin to be clear. I can trust God to keep me safe while I face my fears, my life and my reality.

This is my hiding place. God is my hiding place. He keeps me safe and surrounds me with songs of deliverance. God helps me face each day and each challenge with brand new hope. Each day is a new chance to be what He wants me to be. The morning is a new way to do what He wants me to do.

He loves me, truly loves me, for me, the real me. God doesn’t turn away from my ugliness. He doesn’t mind my whining or my yelling. God can take my anger, my sorrow, and even my deep aching sadness. He stays right beside me while I search through my heart and ask for His forgiveness.

Your word is my guide!

Psalm 32:7 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. In the Message – GOD’s my island hideaway, keeps danger far from the shore, throws garlands of hosannas around my neck.

Isaiah 4:6 It will be a shelter and shade from the heat of the day, and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.

Nahum 1:7 God is good, a hiding place in tough times. He recognizes and welcomes anyone looking for help, No matter how desperate the trouble.

Psalm 56:1-4 Take my side, God—I’m getting kicked around, stomped on every day. Not a day goes by but somebody beats me up; They make it their duty to beat me up. When I get really afraid I come to you in trust. I’m proud to praise God; fearless now, I trust in God. What can mere mortals do?
