When I first learned of Craftsy, I wanted to learn how to draw cartoon animals for children’s books. I took a drawing class in college many years ago and found a latent talent. But I’ve spent the last nearly 40 years doing everything but drawing. Now I was finally going to learn! Immediately, I was besieged with other tasks to do.

But what I had learned had me hooked. Craftsy is a place for me to learn how to finally be crafty. I could learn to knit, bake, make crafts, and draw! The art classes I took were professionally done, both the class content, the teachers, and using the classroom tools. I loved everything about it. I just needed more time.

When I homeschooled my children, art and science were held outdoors. Fortunately, we lived in Southern California close to the beach. I had a table for them to use when they “created.” That way the mess was contained to something I could “take a hose to.” I could have used the free courses on Craftsy for my classes.
