Proverbs 3:5-6Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own.Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track.Trusting God. It sounds easy in theory. I know God loves me. I know God is good. I know God is just and fair. I know God has a plan for me.But in practice, it is not easy to trust God. Because to trust him I have to let go of what I think is control of my life. I have to relax from my constant juggling of the pieces of my life. I have to stop willing people and things to go the way I think they should. That takes a lot of energy to will people or things.Lord, forgive me for not trusting you from the bottom of my heart. Fill me with your presence. Help me to practice trusting you with the little things. When bad things happen, don’t let me retreat into my little space of what I can control. Let me continue to reach out to you and to others as you want me to do.Don’t let me waste time trying to figure out what all I need to do to keep things going right. Let me listen for your voice. You will keep me on track.Let me feel you beside me as I tackle one task at a time. I trust that you will bring everything to pass in its own time as it is needed. I just need to trust you. I need to trust in myself. So, today, help me to do the things set before me. Help me not to fret about everything else that needs to be done. Help me to focus on you and this task.
