John 12:24-25“Listen carefully: Unless a grain of wheat is buried in the ground, dead to the world, it is never any more than a grain of wheat. But if it is buried, it sprouts and reproduces itself many times over. In the same way, anyone who holds on to life just as it is destroys that life. But if you let it go, reckless in your love, you’ll have it forever, real and eternal.Life just as it is. Do I really want life to stay the way it is and never change? When my children were small life was uncomplicated but I looked forward to them growing and maturing into the adults they are today. Why would I want life to stay just as it is?Lord, I like my life the way it is now. Why would I want it to change? I like having breakfast and spending time with my family. I like having friends and a great place to worship. But life does change. Things happen. My life will change.Lord, give me the courage to let go of my life as it is and reach for the life you want for me. Forgive me for not trusting in you more. Help me to trust you to guide me in the right paths and move onto the road you need me to be on.Help me to reproduce myself. Help me to show you to everyone I meet. Help me not to destroy my life but give it over to you. Help me be reckless in my love for you. Show me your grace today. Help me be merciful.
