Deuteronomy 20:1-4When you go to war against your enemy and see horses and chariots and soldiers far outnumbering you, do not recoil in fear of them; God, your God, who brought you up out of Egypt is with you. When the battle is about to begin, let the priest come forward and speak to the troops. He’ll say, “Attention, Israel. In a few minutes you’re going to do battle with your enemies. Don’t waver in resolve. Don’t fear. Don’t hesitate. Don’t panic. God, your God, is right there with you, fighting with you against your enemies, fighting to win.”This life is a war. There is a new battle every day. Battles against our thoughts. Battles against the circumstances. Battles against our relationships. Battles against diseases. But in every battle I will not recoil in fear. God, my God, is with me. I will listen to God’s emissaries when they exhort me. I will listen to your words. I will not waiver in resolve. God is with me.Lord, today help me to trust in you. Forgive me of my sins. You are my God. Help me to not waver in resolve. Help me to keep moving on the path you have set for me. Help me not to be filled with fear and make decisions based on my fear.Help me to not hesitate to follow you and walk in your ways. Help me to not panic today no matter what happens. Because you are God and you are with me every step of the way. You are helping me fight my battles. You are fighting to win. Thank you for fighting for me today.
