Luke 12: 29-32What I’m trying to do here is get you to relax, not be so preoccupied with getting so you can respond to God’s giving.People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works.Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions.You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Don’t be afraid of missing out. You’re my dearest friends! The Father wants to give you the very kingdom itself.Getting. This year I realized that our house needs maintenance and care. It needs to be repaired in case we would need to sell it.So we are spending time and money on it. Buying paint for the walls. Changing the bookcases to more modern and pleasing bookshelves for a more library look. Removing old wallpaper. Checking for termites. Replacing the front door. Our cars are falling apart. They are nearing the 20 year mark. It is time to update. How do we do this responsibly? This all takes time, energy, and so much focus on money, finances, control. It is tax season. How do we order our finances to prepare for the coming year and end last year? So many decisions that don’t seem based on Christian principles. It is easy to lose myself in the mire of finances.Lord, help me to relax. You are the focus of my life. Forgive me for not paying attention to what you tell me to do and how to do it. Fill me with your love and concern for people around me. Again, help me to relax into your provision.Help me to know you and the way you work. Help me not to fuss over things. Help me to steep myself in reality that is focused on God. Show me initiative that comes from following your ways. Provide for me how you want to provide for me. Show me how all my every day human concerns are met.Help me not to be afraid. You are taking care of me just as you take care of the flowers and the grass. You dress me nicely. You provide for me.Thank you for your love today. Let me be filled to the brim with it and let it overflow to those around me.
