Psalm 61:3-5You’ve always given me breathing room, a place to get away from it all, A lifetime pass to your safe-house, an open invitation as your guest. You’ve always taken me seriously, God, made me welcome among those who know and love you. There is that special place of quiet and peace I need to think and exist. Sometimes that place is surrounded by the sounds of the neighborhood waking up. Sometimes that place exists with the backdrop of a favorite movie shutting out the sounds around me. But in all these places exists the safety and peace of God.Lord, forgive me for my invasion of the space of others. Help me to be respectful of their safe house. Let me think of the noise level when I enjoy my music.Thank you for breathing room, for the space of peace you have given me. Thank you for taking me seriously. Thank you for listening to me and hearing my pleas. Thank you for making me welcome among your beloved ones.Let me be permeated with peace and safety this day. Let me feel your love and your mercy deep in my heart. Let me see your joy around me. Let me feel kindness and gentleness for others as well as myself.
