1 Corinthians 1:24-25While Jews clamor for miraculous demonstrations and Greeks go in for philosophical wisdom, we go right on proclaiming Christ, the Crucified. Jews treat this like an anti-miracle—and Greeks pass it off as absurd. But to us who are personally called by God himself—both Jews and Greeks—Christ is God’s ultimate miracle and wisdom all wrapped up in one. Human wisdom is so tinny, so impotent, next to the seeming absurdity of God. Human strength can’t begin to compete with God’s “weakness.”There are those who only see what they want to see. They look for miracles and demonstrations of power. They look for man’s wisdom and the ways of philosophers. But for me, there is Christ Jesus. He is God’s miracle. He is God’s wisdom. What people assume to be God’s absurdity is his working in us. What they see as the weakness of God is his strength working through us.Lord, forgive me of my sins today. Help me to cling to you and your righteousness. Fill me with your love and your mercy.Help me to hold on to you and your strength today. Give me courage to step out into whatever you have for me today. I will hold onto your hand. I will stay with you.
