Daniel 4:1-3King Nebuchadnezzar to everyone, everywhere—every race, color, and creed: “Peace and prosperity to all! It is my privilege to report to you the gracious miracles that the High God has done for me.“His miracles are staggering, his wonders are surprising. His kingdom lasts and lasts, his sovereign rule goes on forever. The King was a proud man, full of sin and self-satisfaction. He glanced around at all he had created, his kingdom and his palace. He had done well. And he had done it all himself. But God wanted him to know who had really blessed him. The Lord wanted him to understand that all he had was not because of his own efforts. When the King understood what God had done and who God is, he was amazed.Am I amazed when I look around me? Or am I concerned with what I do not have?Lord, forgive me for my sins. Forgive me for always wanting more and not thanking you for what I have.Open my eyes to the miracles that you have done for me. Show me the wonders of your making that surround me. Let me see that I have all that I need.I have you in my life. You are my life. You are my focus. You are my refuge. You are my hiding place. You are my Savior. You are my Lord.I praise you and thank you for what you have done for me. Give me peace in the storms I find myself in. Give me quiet joy in my heart during times of sorrow. Fill me with your love and hope so that I do not despair. Let me concentrate on you today.Lead me through this day so that I stay by your side.
