God’s will God's PlanThis is a question I ask myself when my plans fall apart. I make plans, buy tickets, set schedules, and things fall through. Am I following God’s will for my life? Did I make the wrong plans? Did I not hear God correctly when he asked me to go?

What is my plan for my life right now?

My plan for my life right now is centered around creating a new revenue stream for my retirement. I’ve based this on the urgency and desire I have for writing and the message I feel God is pushing me to deliver. Nothing else in my life, except my family, elicit the same passion in my life. I have stories God has given me and I must get them written, published, and delivered to His people.

What thoughts do you have in your heart? Are you listening to them?

How do my plans align with my talents and abilities?

I’ve been writing for years but I didn’t think I would ever be a Christian fiction writer. I didn’t think I would do devotionals. And I’d never heard of a Cozy Mystery. I thought I would write romance, boy-meets-girl, falls in love, wins-the-girl type of story. Possibly, I thought I would write humorous light romance.

God has led me to learn writing skills, take courses in editing, and learn how to run an online business. Back when I was a little girl or when I was in college, none of those things would be possible for me. Now, having an online business or self-publishing is very possible and a growing category of work.

What plans do you have? Do they align with your talents and abilities? How are you moving forward to fulfill those?

How do my plans align with my deep, passionate desires of my heart?

When I think about my deep, passionate desires of my heart, I feel a strong urgency. I don’t have as much time as I used to have. The message I have been given is needed in this world today.

God showed me His plan for me. He had things for me to say and I am to listen to Him and speak what I hear Him say.

I had plans and He turned me into the direction He wanted me to go and I followed Him. God has taken my plans and filled them with His Spirit. He breathed holy life into them. God changed my heart and my mind as He changed my plans into His plans.

How are your plans different from before? Have they changed?

Lord, You Alone are My Inheritance - God’s willWhat can I do right now to grow closer to God’s will for my life?

Your heart yearns for something. What brings compassion alive in you? Can you make changes in the world around you? Seek God and read His word to find the guidance you need.

Ask God to work in your heart to bring your desires and passions into line with His plans. Ask Him to show you opportunities around you to fulfill His plans for you.

How do I start?

  • Start with one verse.
  • Read through the Bible, book by book.
  • Read until something speaks to you.
  • Write the verse down in a notebook.
  • Make a note of the date.
  • Write down what you think the verse is telling you.
