I wrote this book after a prompting from God. I had a vision of myself and my family standing on a hill, looking into a misty future. We had no idea where we were going, but the coming years would be challenging. We needed to be strong and courageous.
I started with Joshua 1:1-9, and I looked up every instance of fear, despair, disappointment, strong, courageous, and more in the Bible. Each verse provides encouragement to step into God’s plan and purpose every day.
At the end of 2016, I looked back at the previous three years. God walked us through sorrow, grief, and changes in jobs and housing situations and provided for each of us.
After most of a year, you have developed a habit.
This book provides over six months of devotion, showing God’s loving care. He gives peace and joy amid sorrow and loss. God’s comfort surrounds our lives in ways we have not seen before. It takes over thirty days to create a habit. After six months, you will yearn to spend time with God.
Meditating on Scripture reduces fear.

Personally, I need to be reminded of God’s promises every day. I become fearful if I don’t have God’s word residing in me. I strive to be in control at all times. And when I am not in control—a passenger in a car—I cannot relax. Reading the scriptures daily and meditating on them builds resistance to fear and panic.
You can Be Strong and Courageous.
Reject fear, walk away from despair, look to God, and be strong and courageous. Read a few days of Be Strong and Courageous!
