1 Peter 5:8-11Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world.So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.Keep a cool head? In this economy with all the idiots running around? Oh, yeah. I need to keep a cool head. I need to focus NOT on the economy or the idiots or the other things that get in my way. I need to focus on God, on his plans, and on the things he has asked me to do.Lord, forgive me for getting riled up for things out of my control. Teach me to pray for my government and my leaders so that they can make right choices. Help me to concentrate on you and what you have given me to do today.Help me to see that people are the most important today. Help me to be kind and loving. Help me to share your love. Help me to keep a firm grip on you and faith in you.Help me to live this day following your plans for me. Put me together and get me on my feet for good. I love you.
