You are my Hiding Place

Have you heard the scripture song, ‘You are my hiding place,’ and felt the glorious peace of knowing God’s presence? It is a beautiful feeling—just knowing that God is our Hiding Place and He is close to us, even right now.

You are my hiding place; you always fill my heart with songs of deliverance whenever I am afraid I will trust in you. Let the weak say I am strong in the strength of the Lord I will trust in you.

There have been many times in my life when the only thing I can do is sing this song. I’m not sure what is going on, what will happen, or even how it will all come out, but I do know one thing. I will trust in God. I don’t know how God will meet my needs or provide what I need for my family from day to day, but I do know God.

Lord, You are my Hiding Place

My grandfather used to sing the old hymn, ‘I don’t know about tomorrow, but I know who holds my hand.’ I remember one Sunday, not long before he died, I held his hand as we sang that hymn. He squeezed my hand really tight. He did know God.

So when I am here in this world moving from day to day, work to work, chore to chore, sometimes all I can do is sing this song. I hear it in my memories, You are my hiding place.

God, today You are my Hiding Place. Thank You for always filling my heart with songs of deliverance, joy, peace, and comfort. I walk with You today. You hold me in your arms of grace and mercy and guide my steps.

Psalm 32:7 You are my hiding place. You will keep me out of trouble and envelop me with songs that remind me I am free.

Psalm 27:5 His house is my shelter and secret retreat. It is there I find peace in the midst of storm and turmoil. Safety sits with me in the hiding place of God.   He will set me on a rock, high above the fray.
