Haggai 2:4-5“‘So get to work, Zerubbabel!’—God is speaking. “‘Get to work, Joshua son of Jehozadak—high priest!’ “‘Get to work, all you people!’—God is speaking.“‘Yes, get to work! For I am with you.’ The God-of-the-Angel-Armies is speaking! ‘Put into action the word I covenanted with you when you left Egypt. I’m living and breathing among you right now. Don’t be timid. Don’t hold back.’The Lord is speaking to me. He calls to me everyday. I hear him in the wind. I hear him in the bird’s singing. I hear the Lord from his word. I hear him in the voices of children. I hear him in words of love. I hear him in the tones of a “stern talking to”. I hear him in an apology. I hear him in the strains of music. I hear him in the rustle in the grass. I hear him in a cat’s purr.He doesn’t enter and leave my life many times. He is omnipresent. He is everywhere all the time. So he is with me now. He lives with me. He holds me in his arms and cradles me. He finds ways to fill me with joy. He loves me and he delights in me. He is encouraging me.Lord, help me to listen to you today. You are all around me speaking to me. I know you love me. Help me to trust that you won’t hurt me or disappoint me. You are here all the time. You live with me.Help me have the courage today to get to work on the things you have given me. I don’t want to be timid or afraid. I don’t want to hold back. Forgive me for the times that I do hold back. Cleanse my heart of sin and fear. Hold my hand as I step into this day.
