Deuteronomy 7:17-19You’re going to think to yourselves, “Oh! We’re outnumbered ten to one by these nations! We’ll never even make a dent in them!” But I’m telling you, Don’t be afraid. Remember, yes, remember in detail what God, your God, did to Pharaoh and all Egypt. Remember the great contests to which you were eyewitnesses: the miracle-signs, the wonders, God’s mighty hand as he stretched out his arm and took you out of there. God, your God, is going to do the same thing to these people you’re now so afraid of.Years ago, I spent many months praying to God for direction on marriage and on college courses. God guided me and helped me choose. I have not regretted my decisions.God prepared homes for me. God prepared jobs for me. God prepared church homes for me during the many moves. God watched out for me on my trips. God provided for safe deliveries of my children. I always had places to live and money to pay the bills.God protected me through many years. I live in an area with few earthquakes, no hurricanes, few high winds, few fires, few floods, and few natural disasters.Lord, as I look at the coming year I become frightened of the future. What will I have to do? What will happen? How will I do life? But then I remember all your provision through the years. I remember how you cared for me. I remember the miracles you have performed. I remember your care, your love and how you poured your joy into my life. This year you will do the same thing for me as you have done my whole life. You will provide for me and my family. You will bring me joy and love. I will live in peace even in the midst of a storm. I am cared for. I am loved. You hold me in your arms and keep me safe.Forgive me for my sins and for not trusting you. Help me to trust you more.
