Colossians 3:1-2So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.Life can become unbearably busy. I am running to keep up with my job this week. It seems like it has been going on forever. I am so much left to do and all I want to do is rest. But God warns about this. I must remember to look up from the myriad of things I feel I have to do today. He might have something more eternal for me to do today.Lord, forgive me for sliding back into the old habits of wanting refreshment for myself. Forgive me for forgetting about you and your mission in my life. Forgive me for forgetting about the people in my life. You place them there for a reason.Let me be wise in my dealings with people today. Let me discern what is good and what is not. Help me to see what is the best way to reach my destination without running headlong over others.Fill me with your love, your joy and your peace today. Give me the strength to finish my work but to also be able to look up from my path to see what you are doing around me. Give me courage to be who I am in you today. Fill me with kindness, gentleness and patience. Let me see things from your perspective.
