John 14:27“I’m telling you these things while I’m still living with you. The Friend, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send at my request, will make everything plain to you. He will remind you of all the things I have told you. I’m leaving you well and whole. That’s my parting gift to you. Peace. I don’t leave you the way you’re used to being left—feeling abandoned, bereft. So don’t be upset. Don’t be distraught.The Holy Spirit is my friend. The Father God sent him to me at the request of the Son, Jesus. He talks to me. He makes things plain to me. He reminds me of things Jesus spoke about. Jesus gave me peace. He didn’t leave me feeling abandoned. I don’t have to be upset. I don’t have to be distraught.Dear Lord, you have given me the Friend, your Holy Spirit. He lives here with me in my heart. He communes with my soul. He brings your peace into my heart and shows me your loving care. He brings to my mind the things I need to know. He explains things to me. I don’t have to be upset. I don’t have to feel abandoned. I don’t have to be distraught. He shows me your love. Help me to trust in you today Lord. Forgive me of my sins. Show me how you care for me today.
