I Chronicles 22:11-13“So now, son, God be with you. God-speed as you build the sanctuary for your God, the job God has given you. And may God also give you discernment and understanding when he puts you in charge of Israel so that you will rule in reverent obedience under God’s Revelation. That’s what will make you successful, following the directions and doing the things that God commanded Moses for Israel. Courage! Take charge! Don’t be timid; don’t hold back. This is David talking to Solomon. Solomon was given the task to build the temple for God. David had wanted to build the temple. David gathered all of the supplies, the wood, the cloth, the precious metals and precious stones. But he was not allowed to build the temple because of all he had done. So it fell to Solomon.Solomon may have been unsure but David told him that God was with him. God had given him this job but God had also given him the ability to do the job. Solomon followed God’s instructions and he was successful.Lord, help me to do the job set before me today. You have given me tasks. I have a job and I need discernment and understanding to do my job well. Help me to follow your directions and your commands so that I will be successful. Give me courage. Help me to take charge of my tasks. Don’t let me be timid or to stand back when I should move forward. And I will give you the glory for my success.
