Prepare to Fight
Put on the armor of God
Thank You, Lord, that I draw my strength and might from You. I now put on Your whole armor to protect myself from the devil and his evil schemes. I’m not waging war against just human enemies. Still, I fight against tyrants, authorities, supernatural powers, and demon princes that move about in this world. And I fight against the wicked spiritual armies in the heavenly places.
Thank You, Lord God, for dressing me head-to-toe in Your armor. Now, I resist during these evil days, and I’m prepared to hold my ground. I stand with truth banded around my waist and Your righteousness on my chest. My vital organs and heart are safe in You. My feet are protected by the good news of peace proclaimed to us through Jesus Christ. Faith shields me from the flaming spears the wicked one hurls at me. I protect my mind, knowledge, and understanding with the helmet of Your salvation.
I wield Your word as my sword in the Spirit. I pray continually and in the Spirit. I pray anyway I know how. And I pray on behalf of Your people. I pray that Your truth will be with me before I open my mouth. Your Spirit will guide me in speaking the good news with confidence.
Prepare my attitude
Lord God, thank You for turning my head and heart to Your words. I turn away from worthless things. Give me life in Your way. Open my eyes to see the wonderful things in Your law. Teach me Your way, so I walk in Your truth. Unite my divided heart so I revere Your Holy name.
Lord, thank You for surprising me every morning with Your love. You satisfy me with Your kindness. I sing with joy and celebrate each day.
Psalm 23
Lord God Eternal, You are my shepherd. You always care for me. You provide me with rest and soothe my fears. You surround me with rich, green fields beside streams of refreshing water.
You make me whole again. You steer me away from hard paths and guide me to where truth and righteousness echo Your name. I am not overcome by fear even in the face of death because You are with me. I am comforted with Your protection and guidance in those dark moments.
Thank You, Lord God, for providing for me even as my enemies attack. You care for all my needs and pour Your Holy Spirit over me. You fill me up, Lord, with Your grace in Christ Jesus. I know, Lord God, that Your faithful protection and loving provision pursue me everywhere I go. Thank You, Lord Eternal, for allowing me to be in Your presence forever.
The Lord’s Prayer
Father God in heaven, Your name is holy. Bring Your kingdom here. Manifest Your will here on earth just as it is manifested in heaven. Give me today what I need. Forgive me of my sins as I forgive others. Lead me not into temptation but deliver me from evil. Your kingdom is powerful and glorious forever.
Fight For God’s People
Thank You, Lord God, that when I call for help against oppression, You remember me and save me from the oppressors. Thank You, Lord, for the strength to fight bravely for Your people. You are the Eternal True God and do only good for me. Thank You for fighting beside me and gathering Your people to help fight.
Thank You, Lord God, for allowing me to turn to You at any time and for You to hear my prayers. You grant me victory. I will not fight against You, Eternal One, because I will not succeed.
Thank You, Lord. I am strong and courageous because You fight for me. I am not discouraged or fearful of those who oppose me. You strengthen Your people. You fill them with courage. I fight for Your people, my brothers and sisters, through Jesus Christ, my Lord.
Not by my hand alone, but with my hand in Your hand, doors and gates open without a fight and will not close. I live in safety.
