Isaiah 44:1-5“But for now, dear servant Jacob, listen— yes, you, Israel, my personal choice.God who made you has something to say to you; the God who formed you in the womb wants to help you.Don’t be afraid, dear servant Jacob, Jeshurun, the one I chose. For I will pour water on the thirsty ground and send streams coursing through the parched earth.I will pour my Spirit into your descendants and my blessing on your children. They shall sprout like grass on the prairie, like willows alongside creeks. This one will say, ‘I am God’s,’ and another will go by the name Jacob; That one will write on his hand ‘God’s property’— and be proud to be called Israel.”God made me. God formed me in the womb. He knew me then. He created me to be his. And now he wants to help me.He pours water on the thirsty ground. He brings rain where there is drought. For me he brings his words of comfort to a lonely, depressed soul. His comfort run in streams into my soul. His Spirit is poured out in me and my children. His blessings pour out around me.Lord, thank you for making me yours. You provided a way for forgiveness of sins. You have made me pure. You have made me whole. Forgive me and cleanse me of the evil that invades my life. Make me white as snow.I will not be afraid because you, Oh Lord, are here to help me. You poured out the blood of Jesus for my sins and to make me righteous in your eyes. You have sent me your life-giving Spirit to guide me and hold me close. I will proclaim today that I am yours, Lord. Even my children will say that they are yours.Today, Lord, let me lift my head because I am yours. Let me walk in the confidence of your love for me. Let me feel your joy and your peace in my heart.
