I am in the process of healing. I was recently let go. My job was not a good fit for me. The culture of the job did not work for me. I tried the best I could but I still ended up failing at this job.

I hadn’t realized that it had affected me in several areas of my life. My personality and the way I deal with people were changing. My health was disintegrating. I felt anger but had nowhere to go with it. I felt that I had no one to talk to about my anger. I felt helpless and stuck where I was. Because of that anger I was growing depressed. I began to shut myself off from people. It was hard to go out and meet people or to be with people. I even tried to close myself off from my family. Fortunately, they push back.

Now that I am away from the old job, I can see myself returning. My ways of dealing with people and different situations is slowly coming back to normal. But I still have difficulties looking back and trying to see what I did that was good. It is hard to talk about and come up with good examples of my work from that time.

What I need is to let go of my past. I have asked God to forgive me for my errors and I know that I am not perfect. But now I need to forget what is behind me and reach for what is to be my future.

Philippians 3:12-14 I have not yet reached my goal, and I am not perfect. But Christ has taken hold of me. So I keep on running and struggling to take hold of the prize. My friends, I don’t feel that I have already arrived. But I forget what is behind, and I struggle for what is ahead. I run toward the goal, so that I can win the prize of being called to heaven. This is the prize that God offers because of what Christ Jesus has done.

I know some things about the future. I’m not a prophet but I do know about the future that God for me. He has a plan for me. His future is filled with hope and success. It is not filled with suffering. He will be with me and take care of me. He will take care of my family.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 I will bless you with a future filled with hope–a future of success, not of suffering. You will turn back to me and ask for help, and I will answer your prayers. You will worship me with all your heart, and I will be with you

Again in the Message: I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. “When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed. I’ll turn things around for you.”

I know that He answers more than I could ask or think. When I pray and ask for a new job and for a new direction, He answers me with more than I could imagine. His love and his providence for me are more than sufficient. He is my God and He works deep within me to do his will.

Ephesians 3:20-21 God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.

God wants me to fulfill my destiny. He fills me with desires and passions so that I can use the talents he has given me for His glory. What are my passions and desires?

I can create relationships with people that I meet. I care for these people genuinely. I want to help people to see God as their friend and loving father. I want to help them see their dreams come to fruition. I love to encourage others. And I love to write.

Do I ask what lies behind? No. Instead, I ask what lies ahead? He makes all things glorious.

You make everything glorious
And I am Yours
What does that make me?
