Whenever I think of my father, I remember his sense of justice, kindness, gentleness, and humility. Micah 6:8 refers to God’s call for justice, kindness, and humility.
The Lord himself took on the form of a man to illustrate how just dealings combined with kindness and gentleness worked and never set himself above others.
As the new year begins, I return to God’s promises. From Psalm 112, I resolve to turn from evil and take pleasure in His word. I am blessed because I revere the Lord God Eternal.
My children are a powerful force on the earth. They do what is right in God’s eyes and are blessed by Him. The Lord’s house is stocked with wealth and riches, and His love for justice endures forever.
Justice, Kindness, Humility
When my life seems dark, God’s light shines for me. I strive to be merciful and compassionate and lend justice to all. Good things come to me as I share freely with others. My dealings are sound in judgment. Nothing rattles me, and justice is always remembered.
I am not afraid because of bad news because I trust the Eternal God. My heart is confident and fearless. My spiritual enemies are defeated by Jesus Christ.
I give freely to the poor. The righteousness of Christ endures for all time. My strength and power are in Christ’s honor.
Thank You, Lord, for all of Your care toward me and mine. Keep us safe in Your gentle arms, and show us kindness and grace.
Psalm 112
1 Praise the Eternal! How blessed are those who revere the Eternal, who turn from evil and take great pleasure in His commandments. 2 Their children will be a powerful force upon the earth; this generation that does what is right in God’s eyes will be blessed. 3 His house will be stocked with wealth and riches, and His love for justice will endure for all time. 4 When life is dark, a light will shine for those who live rightly – those who are merciful, compassionate, and strive for justice. 5 Good comes to all who are gracious and share freely; they conduct their affairs with sound judgment. 6 Nothing will ever rattle them; the just will always be remembered. 7 They will not be afraid when the news is bad because they have resolved to trust in the Eternal. 8 Their hearts are confident, and they are fearless, for they expect to see their enemies defeated. 9 They give freely to the poor; their righteousness endures for all time; their strength and power is established in honor. 10 The wicked will be infuriated when they see the good man honored! They will clench their teeth and dissolve to nothing; and when they go, their wicked desires will follow.
