John 3:5-6Jesus said, “You’re not listening. Let me say it again.Unless a person submits to this original creation—the ‘wind-hovering-over-the-water’ creation, the invisible moving the visible, a baptism into a new life—it’s not possible to enter God’s kingdom. When you look at a baby, it’s just that: a body you can look at and touch. But the person who takes shape within is formed by something you can’t see and touch—the Spirit—and becomes a living spirit.Am I listening to God? When I look at people, do I just see the body? Or do I perceive the person within the body?Lord, forgive me for not listening to you. Forgive me for judging others by their appearance. Help me to see the person within that body, the person beyond the mannerisms and habits. Help me to see the beauty of the individual.Fill me with your grace and your mercy. Help me to feel your compassion for myself and for others. Fill me with your patience, your gentleness and your kindness. Let me feel your joy and your love.Show me how you love me and care for me today.
