We are created in the image of God. God has a feminine side. God is the mother who cares and nurtures her children. God is the woman who fights for those she loves. Do not threaten her children. God is full of compassion, kindness, gentleness, joy, and peace.
God wants us to delight in him. He wants us to see him. He wants us to see how much he loves us. He wants us to see how he cares for us and plans for the details in our lives.
God wants to be irreplaceable in our lives. He is the only one who can give us peace. He is the only one who can forgive us our sins. He is the only one we worship and give first place in our lives. He is the only one who cleanses us from sin and makes us holy. He is the one and only God.
God wants to reveal his beauty to us. He wants to show us the mountains in their glorious beauty close up. He wants us to see the sunrises and sunsets that he paints every day. He wants us to see his kindness and patience. He wants us to understand his love for us is deeper than the ocean. He wants us to worship Him with our whole hearts.
We are made in his image. We have desires to be needed. We have desires to be seen. We have desires to be part of something that matters. We have desires for those close to us to see our beauty, how we really are down deep, and to still love us.
We are frail and imperfect where he is perfect. But we desire to be like him.
This is a special journey we are taking to see ourselves in God’s eyes. To see the beauty of our souls, the longings we have, and to see our adventure together begin to take shape.
Let us pray for each other as we begin this journey. We pray we will each be seen by the others. We pray that we will appreciate each other. We pray that we will acknowledge that we are irreplaceable in each others lives for this time. And we pray that we will be able to share the beauty that is within all of us.
We pray that you will shine your light into the depths of our hearts so that we can come to know your healing and your presence more deeply. Help us to see, to understand, to repent, to forgive and to become more fully your women.
Psalm 27:4 The one thing I ask of the LORD – the thing I seek most – is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD’s perfections and meditating in his Temple.
Psalm 63:1-4 O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.
I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory. Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you! I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.
