Sometimes my life seems a bit overwhelming. I know it really isn’t, but I feel alone in my struggles. I have wonderful friends and wonderful family. Most of all I have a Savior who cares for me.
He loves me. He loves me more than I could ever know. He is willing to be there for me no matter what mistakes I make. He stays when I try to ignore him. He listens when I yell at him. He holds me close when I cry. He smiles with me when I laugh. He is always there. He is everywhere I turn.
He cares enough for me that he waits for me to catch on. He tells me things over and over. He patiently tells me he loves me. He says to trust him. He says he loves me and always will. And he says these things again and again.
He teaches me his way of doing things. He shows me bit by bit how to love others. He shows me what I can be like if I let him change me. He helps me move in that direction. He doesn’t give up when I mess up.
He will hold me in his arms. He will help me with my life. He will give me rest. He will show me what I need to do next. He will go over it line by line with me.
Matthew 11:27-30 Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly. “The Father has given me all these things to do and say. This is a unique Father-Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge. No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does.
But I’m not keeping it to myself; I’m ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen.
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest.
Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
