So, you’ve heard about essential oils. I’d like to tell you how I use essential oils and where to buy them.
They are *everywhere* now. At the grocery store, on Amazon, goodness, even at places like Best Buy and Walmart.
It seems like every week a new company is saying, “Hey look! We sell essential oils too!”
If there’s a hot, trendy new item, then everyone wants a piece of that market share.
But there’s a problem. And it’s a BIG problem.
How I use Essential Oils and Where to buy them
There are products called essential oils where the company’s only concern is what the bottle smells like (or mostly like) and the plant it represents. These products may have harmful fillers. They may have synthetic chemicals added (did you know they can use synthetic chemicals in a lab to mimic an essential oil smell?). The company may apply high heat or high pressure when they remove the essential oils from the plants. These things make me NOT want to put that product on my skin or in my body. In fact, many of these products have a “do not ingest” or “not for topical use” on the bottle.
Then there are essential oils that come directly from the plants, extracted with LOW heat and LOW pressure, so the oils are not damaged. They do not have harmful chemicals added during the extraction process. The plants are grown in the right soil in the right conditions and thoroughly tested for their therapeutic qualities.
These are the oils which can benefit my family’s health and wellness.

What God created through plants is POWERFUL and designed to work with our bodies. The media talks about essential oils like they’re a “new trend” but people have been using essential oils for thousands of years!
For years I bought lavender as salves and lotions from various places, not understanding how different oils can be. It wasn’t until I stopped to ask these eight questions below that I started to realize how dangerous some products can be.
What is the difference between some oils at a store or on Amazon and Young Living?
Quality.
In fact, here are eight questions that you can ask before you buy essential oils from a specific company. It’ll give you a good indication of the quality of that company’s essential oils.
1. Can this company guarantee that the land used to grow their plants & herbs is free of residual herbicides, pesticides, & chemicals?
2. Does this company own their own lab to test an oil’s composition?
3. Does this company ever purchase oils from outside suppliers? If so, does the company visit the farms and oil distilleries to observe the process and make sure that there are no added chemicals to the distillation of the oils and that the herbs and plants are grown completely free from contamination with herbicides, pesticides, and chemical fertilizers?
4. Does this company only use crops that were harvested at their peak time? And if so, does the grower test to make sure that the crop is at its peak time for harvesting?
5. Does this company continuously monitor the process of distillation to make sure that the oils produced from the distillation contain all of the correct therapeutic components?
6. Can this company guarantee that oils are discarded and not sold if mistakes were made during the distillation process that affect the quality of the oils?
7. Does this company’s oil suppliers use extra solvents during the distillation process to extract extra oil from the plants?
8. Can this company guarantee that nothing is added to the oils during bottling?
Why I decided to Choose Young Living

You’ll likely end up getting several diffusers at some point down the road (most people do!), so don’t stress too much about which one to get now. Does signing up make me a “distributor”?
You are not required to sell anything at all to anyone. When you become a wholesale member, you get a unique link that you can share with friends and get credit for their purchases, but that’s just a bonus! In fact, 90% of the wholesale members of Young Living don’t do the business side at all. They are buying from Young Living because of the quality alone.
If you ARE interested in the business side, then we have ALL the resources to help you get started with earning an income from Young Living as well. But before getting started with the business, I highly recommend taking some time with your starter kit to get to know the oils and fall in love! You need to find out how Young Living essential oils can change your life!
Am I required to make a minimum purchase each month?
There are absolutely NO minimum monthly purchase requirements. To remain a wholesale member, you have to make $50 worth of purchases per year to keep your membership. But if there’s a year that you don’t make a $50 purchase, you can reinstate your wholesale membership discount by just placing a $50 order.
If you do find yourself making regular purchases each month, then Young Living has a rewards program (called Essential Rewards) where you can make an excellent percentage back in product credit each month on all of your purchases. You can join if you *want* to purchase regularly (but it’s not a requirement for being a wholesale member).
Why should I buy from Young Living instead of other essential oils companies?
It does seem like a new essential oils company pops up every day, doesn’t it?
I can’t speak to the quality of other companies, but I can say that Young Living was the only company in my research of essential oil companies that could answer all of my questions about purity in a way that was satisfactory to me.
Young Living is the only company that has their farms in the regions where the plants are native. It guarantees no pesticides or herbicides are used in the growing of any of their oils (they do all of the weedings by hand and do not spray ANY chemicals on the plant – even the chemicals approved for use in organic farming). Young Living has testing equipment (they do both in-house and 3rd party testing, and use many different testing methods. They test more than GC/MS which is only for certain chemicals, not whether they are synthetic or not). Young Living uses the first distillation of oils instead of adding chemicals to get more out of the plant.
I love that Young Living is a full-disclosure company. ANYONE can visit the farms, participate in the harvesting and distillation, view the Young Living labs, and see the entire process. That’s not an option with any other company.
How will I know how to use my oils?

Does Young Living only sell essential oils?
The answer to this one was surprising to me when I first got my starter kit! Young Living has an entire line of personal care products, supplements, meal replacements, energy drinks, and more! Almost every product incorporates essential oils (for example, frankincense is good in facial products), but there’s a wide variety of products available. I, personally, use many of the supplements every day as well as the oils to achieve wellness. And I will show you how I use essential oils.
What if I live outside of the United States?
Many times the only kit offered to those that reside outside of the US doesn’t have a PV at all.
What about overseas US military?
If you are military with an APO/FPO address, you can still receive the same promotion as those in the United States since the address is here in the US.
