Take a BreatherThis weekend I’m taking a break from life to spend some quality time with my husband. We will try to concentrate on sleep, visiting with each other, praying with each other, and resting. There might be exercise too. We are taking a breather from work!

A Breather

I want to make the time to remember why I love my husband.  And I want to recount the reasons I fell in love with him in the beginning. I want to remind myself of the plans we made together at the beginning.

He completes me, he is:

  • the other half,
  • calm when I’m panicking,
  • worried when I’m not afraid,
  • peaceful when I’m excited,
  • methodical when I rush,
  • thinks things through when I want to escape the rules.

It is hard to concentrate on those things in the midst of every day working, cleaning, rushing, bills, chores, and living. But those moments where we pause to think, remember, and be thankful, help us work together and connect during the everyday hurry.

I look forward to spending hours with him, and him alone. When did you last have a breather? With your significant other or your friend or your God?
