Can three extraordinary cats help two broken souls find a safe haven and make a wrong world right?
Start the Journey: Discovery: Finding Home (Book 1)
About the Book
Emily Ross is the ultimate IT introvert. After years of saving, she finally buys her dream three-bedroom townhouse—complete with a cozy, screened-in backyard sunroom. But just as she moves in, the pandemic lockdowns begin. Working from home as a programmer, she enjoys the quiet order of her new life but can’t shake a deep, growing loneliness. Deciding it is finally time to get the kitten she’s wanted since childhood, she schedules an appointment at Valley Rescue.
She expects to leave with one small kitten. Instead, she walks out with a family of three: Jeffrey, a protective black cat; Greyson, a gentle grey cat; and Susie, a tiny, rambunctious kitten found all alone who refused to sleep anywhere but curled up in Jeffrey’s protective paws.
When Emily’s mother gives her a long-lost diary from her great-grandmother, Emily makes a startling discovery: the women in her family share a rare, divine gift for bonding with and deeply understanding cats.
But the mystery truly begins when Emily adopts a sassy fourth cat, Myra, and is led straight to Lucas MacGowan—a mixed-race author who was left homeless, jobless, and heartbroken after a severe battle with COVID-19. As she welcomes Lucas into her home, Emily realizes her cats aren’t just companions; they can read, type on tablets, and are determined to protect their new human family from the world’s unfolding chaos and danger.
Guided by a deep faith and the comforting truth of Psalm 103—that He makes wrongs right—Emily, Lucas, and their clever feline detectives set out to heal their pasts, protect their neighbors, and build a community of hope.
