Acts 18:8-11In the course of listening to Paul, a great many Corinthians believed and were baptized. One night the Master spoke to Paul in a dream: “Keep it up, and don’t let anyone intimidate or silence you. No matter what happens, I’m with you and no one is going to be able to hurt you. You have no idea how many people I have on my side in this city.” That was all he needed to stick it out. He stayed another year and a half, faithfully teaching the Word of God to the Corinthians.Sometimes it feels hard to keep going. I don’t feel like anyone is noticing the sacrifices I am making or the time it takes to do all that I do. Sometimes I wonder if I am doing what God wants me to do right now. If I was doing what he wanted, wouldn’t it be easier? Wouldn’t there be more people to encourage me?But God is still in control. He has set me on this path. He knows what is ahead, not me. And I need to trust him that he can make it happen, not me. God tells me to keep on going, keep doing what I am doing, and to trust him.Lord, forgive me for doubting you and not trusting you to take care of me. You have given me so many blessings and so much love. Help me to not become discouraged in the path you have given me. Watch my feet and keep me to this path that is your will. Hold me in your arms and comfort me so that I can know you are here with me.I hear you, Lord. You are on my side. I will keep going. I won’t let anyone intimidate me or silence me. I will continue in the paths that you have given me. No matter what happens, I know you are here with me. Show me your people here in this city, Lord. Let me know that I am not on my own. Give me the strength and perseverance that Paul had when he stayed with the Corinthians. Help me to faithfully follow your words and share you with everyone I meet today.
