When I started on this journey near the beginning of 2014, I thought I would finish and publish a book by the end of the year. Life has a way of interrupting our plans. Welcome to my journey where I’m a writer.
Life interrupts our plans
I moved into my busiest year of web consulting work. My brother died, my father’s dementia deteriorated, my mom fell, my husband’s father died, my husband was laid off, my husband was offered a job, in another city over two hours away.
Next, we purged our belongings and started packing to move. My husband started his job while I finished getting our house sold after major remodel. Meanwhile, my middle child was nearing the end of her first pregnancy, our first grandchild!
Hey, look! I’m a writer!
We welcomed our grandson, sold the house, moved me to the new town, found temporary accommodations for my other two adult children who were living with us. After buying two homes, we moved in, and recently my daughter, son-in-law, and grandbaby joined us. Life is changing!
Life is changing!
Throughout all of this, I worked from 35 hours to 50 hours a week, sometimes deep into the night.
Until June, I hadn’t been able to get back to my writing except for a short month of NaNoWriMo last November. Now I am racing through my revising class and hope to finish my series class near the beginning of next year. I have already purchased a new drawing class online to renew my quest to draw a credible cat. I hope to chronicle here my journey from unpublished to a published writer over the next few years.
Welcome to the journey.
