Why pray with me?
Every time I look at headlines for the news, on social media, national, world, or local, it doesn’t matter. Chaos is everywhere. The weather is too extreme. It is too hot, flooding, destructive storms, and drought, and people are dying. It is worldwide now. Fires are everywhere, volcanos stir worldwide, and earthquakes shake the ground. Would you pray with me?
And the accidents are overwhelming, planes crashing, cars crashing into buildings and each other, mistakes, a moment of inattention, and it’s over. Then there are the emotions and attitudes. People everywhere are fighting mad. They want to be able to feed and clothe their loved ones. They need shelter from the elements, a home, and a safe place to live. Too many guns, too much hate, and unrestrained emotions lead to far too much sorrow and loss.
But what can we do? It seems like we are on our own. The cities have no money. The police are scared for their lives too. In every country, too many are deciding to take what they want and do what they wish to in disregard to others around them.
We can pray, though. We have a great big God.
James 5:17 Remember Elijah? He was a man, no different from us. He prayed with great intensity asking God to withhold the rain; God answered his prayers and did not allow a single drop of rain to fall for three and a half years.
What can happen?
God can reach into the hearts of men. His ministering and warring angels can carry His word and message to our desperate world. We can see God work in our lives and families when we pray.
Can we change the world? If we pray for the weather to calm down, will the winds die like they did for Jesus? If we pray for rain as Elijah did, will rain fall on dry ground? Can we put out the fires and save people from storms and floods?
Can God soften the hearts of all men? Could God do that for everyone in a position of power to stop and consider what is best for their people? We can pray that God’s Spirit rains down upon our world. Guns are put down, and food is distributed. Those with money give freely, and change can begin.
Do you believe God is able to do this?
Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart is like a channel of water directed by the Eternal: He chooses which way He bends it.
How do I know God will answer?
If we pray according to God’s will, we can be assured, confident, that He will answer us. He has given us His word to study. His promises to us are sure.
Psalm 5:1 Bend Your ear to me and listen to my words, O Eternal One; hear the deep cry of my heart.
1 Peter 3:12 For the Lord watches over the righteous, and His ears are attuned to their prayers. But His face is set against His enemies; He will punish evildoers.
James 5:14-16 Are any sick? They should call the elders of your church and ask them to pray. They will gather around and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.
Prayers offered in faith will restore them from sickness and bring them to health. The Lord will lift them up from the floor of despair; and if the sickness is due to sin, then God will forgive their sins.
So own up to your sins to one another and pray for one another. In the end, you may be healed. Your prayers are powerful when they are rooted in a righteous life.
Luke 11:2 Jesus: Here’s how to pray: Father [in heaven], may Your name be revered. May Your kingdom come. [May Your will be accomplished on earth as it is in heaven.]
Where do I start?
Resources to pray with me
I have created daily prayer guides using scripture as the basis for those prayers. In my Daily Prayer section, I have a morning and evening prayer that lifts me up. And I also have nine different prayer guides. The prayer section only shows the prayer for every day and that day of the week. So today, all of them are Sunday prayers. Tomorrow, they will be Monday prayers.
I have also prepared a way to create an icon on the home screen of your phone or tablet so that you can easily click on the icon and pray. Instructions are at the bottom of the Daily Prayer page.

Join Me in Prayer
Whether you pray quickly or longer is up to you. I will pray in the morning when I wake up and in the evening before bed. If you pray, then it will be like we are covering the world with prayer every day.
Join me in prayer today and ask God to bring the rain, ease the floods, and erase the chaos from our world and hearts.
