What is God saying to us today? As I read through the book of Isaiah, I find judgment, comfort, and hope. My prayer is to be seeking God and His kingdom so I will not be judged, and I am comforted and hopeful by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Judgment
When the time has come for judgment, the Lord will take away the things that consume their attention to get attention. It will be a bad time for those who authorize wickedness and legalize oppression. Those leaders who deny justice for the needy, taking away their rights and making them helpless will be judged.
Our God is the God of the helpless and needy. He champions the downtrodden and comes to the aid of the brokenhearted. Rejoice in the Lord who comforts you.
Turn your hearts to God. Seek Him daily in His word and in Your prayers. Seek His will and not Your own. Believe and trust in the Lord God Almighty, for His power is above the heavens and covers the earth.
Comfort
When we seek after God, we find Him. And He settles us in comfort and rest. Because we stand up for the poor and weak, our God comforts us and gives us strength in our distress. He gives us safe harbor and cool shade when it is hot. Our Lord shelters us from the attacks of the enemy. He comforts us with gentle words, both tender and kind.
Isaiah is about Judgment, Comfort, and Hope
To those imprisoned, God calls them to come out into His light. There they will find peace of mind and live in comfort and security.
Because the Lord equips us to serve His people, He gives us words to comfort and soothe the downtrodden, the tired, and the despairing. He wakes us each morning and tells us what to say. Lord, wake me and help me to listen to You!
Lord, help me to follow You every day. Even though You know me and know my deepest secrets, You still make me well again. God, show me the way. You comfort me and console me. Hold me like a toddler, carry me, feed me, and comfort me. You bring me peace.
Hope
Because of Jesus Christ, I emerge new. I put all my hope in Him. Because of who He is, I have hope again and dreams. He is my Wonderful Counselor, my Mighty God, my Father in Heaven who never fails, and He is the Prince of Peace.
With this message of confidence and hope, we can give strength to those with weak hands or knees and all who are weary.
And now, I am filled with joy and my soul vibrates with hope. It is because of my God. He dresses me in salvation through Christ Jesus and wraps me with His righteousness. You do amazing things for us that we have not dreamed of.
Isaiah 25:4 Because You stand up for the poor and weak, You comfort and empower them in their distress, Giving them safe harbor and cool shade when it’s hot; You shelter them from their oppressors’ blows As a strong wall holds back the driving rain.
